Dick Lee
Composer

Recipient of Singapore's prestigious Cultural Medallion Award 2005. Multi-talented Dick is known as the Andrew Lloyd Webber of the east. He has written many staged musicals in Japan and Hong Kong including Beauty World (1988), Fried Rice Paradise (1991), Kampong Amber (1994), HOTPANTS (1997) and Jacky Cheung's acclaimed Snow Wolf Lake (1997). Nagraland (1992) toured Asia in a sold-out season. Dick continues his love of theatre by being Associate Artistic Director of The Singapore Repertory Theatre, an appointment he has held since 1998. In 2002, he wrote and co-directed his first dance musical-remix for Singapore Repertory Theatre Young Company (SRT Young Company), as well as a specially commissioned piece, Forbidden City, the inaugural performance to mark the opening of the prestigious Esplanade Theatre in Singapore.

Tiara Jacquelina
Executive Producer / Lead Actress

Winner of the Best Producer award, Asian First Films 2005, for Puteri Gunung Ledang, Malaysia's most ambitious film to-date. The film has represented Malaysia in at least 18 international film festivals and became Malaysia's first entry to the Academy Awards.

Through her film and television production companies, Enfiniti Productions and Ten On Ten Pictures, Tiara champions high standards and critically acclaimed products such as the Odissi  short films series and the long-running sitcom Spanar Jaya.

Pat Ibrahim
Co-Creator / Choreographer

Pat is probably the most talented dance choreographer in the country today. Trained at the Akademi Seni Kebangsaan, Pat was the Creative Director of Kit Kat Club Entertainment until 1996.

Pat was involved in Puteri Gunung Ledang the movie as Casting Director. He choreographed the hit single music "Asmaradana" for the Motion Picture Soundtrack of  Puteri Gunung Ledang the movie, and for various stage performance of Asmaradana in Malaysia and abroad.

 

Roslan Aziz
Musical Director

A multi-award winning producer-composer, Roslan is the man behind unrivalled acts such as Sheila Majid, Zainal Abidin, Afdlin Shauki and Amir Yusoff and most recently he is known as The Malaysian Idol judge who also successfully produced Siti Nurhaliza's concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Co-founder of the renowned Roslan Aziz Production label R.A.P., the first local recording label to generate interests from abroad, R.A.P. took the local music industry one step further by not only stirring up the regional music scene, but also the entertainment arenas in Indonesia, Japan, Europe and South America. Commanding quality over quantity in every production, the music house managed to gain favourable recognition and veneration nationwide and beyond, for uniquely eclectic sounds, tuned to perfection.

 

Zahim Albakri
Co-Director / Book Writer

Zahim Albakri is the artistic director, executive producer and founding member of Dramalab. A recognised actor in Malaysia and Singapore, he has appeared in a number of acclaimed television, theatre and film productions. Trained as an actor at the Academy Of Live And Recorded Arts in London, Zahim also holds an MA in Theatre Directing. He received the Best Actor award for his role in the TV drama ‘Odissi’ at the TV3 Anugerah Skrin in 1999. As artistic director of Dramalab, he has been responsible for 'Gold Rain And Hailstones', 'The Storyteller', 'One By One', 'Talking AIDS', 'A Flight Delayed' and 'Spilt Gravy On Rice', for which he received the Best Director award at the inaugural Cameronian Arts Awards in 2003. In September 2005, Zahim co-directed 'Separation 40' with Alvin Tan in a collaboration with The Necessary Stage, Singapore. Zahim has performed on stage in Singapore at the 2000 Singapore Arts Festival in 'A Flight Delayed', which he also directed and most recently in the 2004 productions of The Necessary Stage's 'Mardigras' and Singapore Repertory Theatre's 'The Good Citizen'. He received the Best Solo Performance award at the 2004 Boh Cameronian Arts Awards for 'The Smell of Language'.

 

Saw Teong Hin
Bookwriter

After attending the National University of Singapore, Teong Hin returned to Malaysia and pursued a career in the advertising industry.Teong Hin cut his film-directing teeth with award winning music videos, short films and television commercials in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany and Japan.

His experience only deepened his desire to direct a feature-length film. This led him to NYU Film School and eventually his debut feature, Puteri Gunung Ledang, the biggest epic film ever produced in Malaysia, for which he was awarded Best Director at the Malaysian Film Festival 2005.

 

Akma Suriati Awang
Costume Designer

Akma carries with her 17 years of working experience as Fashion Consultant and Costume Designer. She graduated from UiTM with a Bachelors Degree in Art and Design (Fashion Design). She has since been involved in the arena of designing ranging from boutique, corporate attire, artist costumes for film and drama and TV commercials, to theatres of national and international scale. In recent years, Akma was privileged to design costumes for international movies under 20th Century Fox Productions Limited such as Entrapment, Anna and The King and worked with Lion King Theatre in the Costume Department of the 'Hafen Theatre', Hamburg, Germany 2005 (Der Konig de Howen).

Mac Chan
Lighting Designer

Mac has work as a Lighting Designer for Malaysian and International theatre since 1993. Over the years he had been travel with his lighting design work stage in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and South Africa. He is three time the winner of Best Lighting Design in BOH Cameronian Arts Awards of year 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was also been honorary mentioned in 2002 Singapore Life Theatre Arts Awards for his lighting design works in Singapore. Mac devolves his time in developing technical theatre by founding Malaysian Alliance of Technical Theatre with his collogues and friends. He is currently chairing the pro-tem committee.

He is also intensively involved in research of Asian Performing Arts Space with the support of Arts Network Asia. He been invited to attend many international forums and conference to explore and sharing the development of theatre architectural and technical theatre in Asia.

Raja Malek
Production Designer

Multi-talented Malek is a full-time and much sought-after Art Director for TV Commercials, dividing his time between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. His design work in theatre began in 1996 when multi-award winning actor and theatre director, Zahim Albakri invited him to design the costumes for the sell-out production of The Storyteller. He has since designed costumes and sets for numerous theatre productions in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Tokyo. He has received three nominations to-date for Best Set Design at Caroline Russel's annual public relation bash, The Cameronian Arts Awards.

Adlin Aman Ramlie
Co-Director / Lyricist

Most recognized for his memorable role as the Sultan of Melaka in PGL the movie, as well as his stint as jury member in Akademi Fantasia. Besides his appearance in the LRT courtesy campaigns, Adlin has been actively involved in the Malaysian theatre , film and music scene since 1994. Adlin has the good fortune to start his career in film under the acclaimed director, U Wei bin Hj. Shaari and has had various roles in other Malaysian feature films such as Paloh, Buai Laju Laju, Puteri Gunung Ledang and television movies.

He has worked with a number of celebrated Malaysian theatre directors such as Krishen Jit, Joe Hasham, Faridah Merican and Ahmad Yatim.
